A view from the opposite side. The edge and surround gets filled with pea gravel.
The waterfall gets started with a pile of dirt at the back edge of the pond. There was not enough dirt excavated from the unwanted pond-hole to make the waterfall...so we brought in extra bags of top soil. It is a much bigger mound of dirt now. This is a LOT of work!

Oooh... I read enough to know that this is the pond that nobody wanted, but I have to say you're doing a lovely job with it so far! I can't wait to see how you finish up the waterfall... after your backs have time to rest up, of course!
A waterfall too! This is no ordinary garden pond...wish we had space for one, but still it's good to see someone else doing the hard work. ;)
Hi there, found you over at Kim's and look forward to the ongoing pond saga. Gardening is more pleasurable as a shared experience!!
These 'unwanted' posts crack me up. Your husband sounds like a very good sport. :-) (Mine gets crabby about half-way through unloading the first truckload of manure).
Your gardens look beautiful. I love that part of the country. If it wasn't so humid in the summer I don't think I could have beared leaving.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
